Aave Surges on Burn Talk and Whale Buying
Aave's price surged by 4.3% over a 9-hour period due to several fresh catalysts, not a single confirmed announcement.
The strongest short-term catalyst is the potential future burn of AAVE tokens, combined with evidence of a large spot buyer. Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave, mentioned that the team is considering an additional burn mechanism on top of the existing buyback program in Aavenomics 3.0.
A recent report by Tokenpost highlighted a large single-buyer flow of about $4.26 million, with two wallets swapping WBTC for AAVE. This visible demand supports the narrative that there is potential structural supply reduction and large demand for AAVE tokens.
The growth of Aave V4 has also been driving the price up. Tracked TVL rose by 81.7% in September to $653.8 million, while active loans jumped by 75.7%. The new Base market and equities hub have also contributed to this growth.
