Aave Surges Past $175 as High Yields Fail to Dampen DeFi Enthusiasm
Aave's price surged by over 17% on September 29, breaking through its previous highs and surpassing $175. This rally comes despite the US government debt offering yields of over 5%, which typically would attract investors away from decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.
According to TradingView, Aave had been steadily climbing in price before its recent jump, having traded under $90 in mid-August and crossing key price levels at $120, $140, and then $150. The chart shows that after passing the $150-$155 region, which earlier rallies had rejected, Aave reached the $175 mark.
With this latest rally building on a strong foundation, analysts are wondering whether Aave can hold onto its current price or experience a pullback. If it holds above the $150-$155 range, it could mean that the former ceiling has become a floor, while a fall below it might indicate that the rally moved too quickly.
On September 28, an Aave risk proposal was presented, recommending adjustments to borrowing conditions for some assets, including a proposed increase in borrowing rates for USDe. However, there were no clear signs that this routine adjustment led to the price surge.
