Absa and Ripple Team Up on Digital Asset Custody in South Africa

Ripple has partnered with Absa Corporate and Investment Banking to launch digital asset custody services in South Africa. This new service, known as Absa Digital Asset Custody, provides a secure platform for institutional clients to store their blockchain assets.

According to Reece Merrick, Managing Director of Ripple Middle East and Africa, the partnership aims to ensure security and compliance for managing digital assets. The service allows customers to control private keys, transaction authorizations, and approvals via Absa's governance and compliance regime.

Absa Digital Asset Custody is a major milestone for institutional digital assets in Africa, as it sets a new benchmark for secure and compliant custody services. Ripple's technology provides scalable digital asset storage and management capabilities, integrating blockchain transaction capabilities into the bank's infrastructure.
