Absa Deploys Ripple's Custody Platform for Crypto and Tokenized Assets
Ripple's custody infrastructure has been integrated into Absa Corporate and Investment Banking in Africa. This partnership allows institutional clients to store and manage cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and XRP, as well as tokenized real-world assets.
Absa Head of Digital Product, Custody Robyn Lawson stated that the bank chose Ripple's technology due to its high security and operational standards.
This move is significant for XRP as it expands Ripple's presence in Africa. Absa manages over 2.07 trillion South African rand ($119.5 billion) in assets, making it a major banking partner for Ripple in the region.
