Abu Dhabi Funds Reveal Multi-Hundred Million Dollar Bitcoin Holdings

Two Abu Dhabi-based sovereign wealth funds, Mubadala Investment Company and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), have revealed their Bitcoin holdings in a recent filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The funds held hundreds of millions of dollars in positions in BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), for the second quarter.

Mubadala Investment Company held 14,721,917 shares of IBIT as of June 30, with a value of approximately $490.1 million at the end of the quarter.

This position remained unchanged compared to the previous quarter and is Mubadala's second-largest position by value among its listed assets.

The largest portfolio position for Mubadala consists of GlobalFoundries shares, valued at approximately $32.9 billion.
