ADA Price Surges Amid Shrinking Wallet Base
Cardano's ADA price surged by 24% over the past week, breaking above $0.195 for the first time since July 4. This significant price increase is accompanied by a curious drop in the number of non-empty wallets on the platform.
According to Santiment data, there are now 7,070 fewer non-empty ADA wallets compared to two months ago. While this decline might normally signal fading interest, it arrived as prices climbed, suggesting that stronger buyers are quietly absorbing supply while the broader retail crowd stays away.
The accumulation of stronger hands is a bullish sign for Cardano's ecosystem, which has been busy with ongoing work on Leios testnet, Hydra scaling, Mithril upgrades, and the integration of Pyth oracle services. Additionally, the project has maintained a consistent presence among the most active blockchains by developer activity.
However, the market is watching whether this concentration of conviction can hold the line if broader altcoin sentiment sours again. The missing piece remains retail re-engagement, which has not yet shown up in the wallet data.
