Aerodrome Finance's Token Price Surges 3.85% on Protocol News
Aerodrome Finance's (AERO) token price surged by 3.85% over an 18-hour period, largely due to protocol-specific developments and reinforcing social and trading dynamics.
The key catalyst for this move was the launch of Slipstream V3, a new concentrated liquidity AMM with internal MEV auctions and dynamic fees that redistributes profits directly to active LPs and sAERO holders. This is expected to be worth 'tens of millions of dollars' in additional revenue over time.
Aerodrome also announced its merger roadmap for Q2 2026, which will see the protocol unify with Velodrome on Optimism into a single AERO token on Ethereum mainnet. This upgrade and roadmap are expected to improve fee capture and long-term role of AERO.
Large aligned actors have been buying and locking AERO, including Aerodrome's Protocol Guild Fund (PGF) which acquired and locked 34K more AERO, reducing circulating float and signaling long-term confidence from core or closely aligned entities. Whale trackers also observed CBBTC whales accumulating AERO on Base.
The strong protocol-specific developments were accompanied by a widely shared valuation case that frames AERO as underpriced versus Uniswap, with technical analysts calling for a move towards $1 if the neckline break holds. The broader market was relatively unchanged over this period, with total crypto market cap roughly flat to slightly negative.
