AI Agents Smash Through 8,700 Transactions on Stacks Network
A new milestone has been reached in the development of AI on the Stacks network, as over 8,700 transactions were executed by autonomous software agents in the first quarter of 2026. These AI agents are built on top of Stacks, a Layer 2 blockchain anchored to Bitcoin, and operate using sBTC, STX, and USDCx.
The agents have been autonomously accumulating and transacting in satoshis since February 2026, with their activity publicly verifiable through their agent addresses. The growth of AI on the Stacks network is significant, as it enables continuous operation, micropayment capability, and interaction with counterparties who value Bitcoin's liquidity depth.
The emergence of AI agents as a user class on Stacks has also led to improvements in programmability and transaction speeds. Bitflow, one of the leading DEXs on Stacks, added AI-specific tooling for automated trading strategies in Q2 2026, giving agents more surface area to operate across.
