Avalanche Treasury Company CEO Bart Smith warns that the rise of AI agents in financial markets will put a strain on block space, potentially making it a scarce resource. According to Smith, if AI activity in financial markets reaches even low-end expectations, it could overwhelm current blockchain capacity.

Smith believes that this increased demand for blockspace will make the differences between Layer 1 networks like Avalanche (AVAX), Solana, and Ethereum more significant. He thinks that users currently don't need to pay attention to these distinctions because capacity is plentiful.

However, Smith predicts that this will change as AI agents increasingly participate in financial markets. 'Those differences are going to matter,' he said.
