Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin sounded a warning at the 12th Global Blockchain Summit about the potential risks of AI to blockchain privacy. He noted that advances in artificial intelligence and powerful data analysis could make traditional blockchain privacy protections less effective by linking transactions to real people.

Buterin compared public blockchains to 'Twitter for your bank account', highlighting how much financial activity can remain visible even when users do not reveal their identities. This, he said, poses growing privacy and security risks that could hinder crypto and DeFi adoption.

The Ethereum co-founder pointed out that increasingly powerful data analysis and AI tools are changing the privacy landscape, making it harder for users to keep their transactions private. He emphasized the need for a re-evaluation of traditional blockchain privacy protections in light of these emerging threats.
