AI Shopping Agents in Bitcoin: Hackathon Demonstrates Autonomous Commerce

The Agnic.AI hackathon in Toronto showcased AI shopping agents that can pay merchants and each other in Bitcoin, according to Roman Yermoshin, General Manager of GoBTC Pay.

In a recent event, teams built working agents that took over routine purchases and settled payments with one another in Bitcoin. This demonstrates the potential for AI agents to handle everyday transactions without human intervention.

Yermoshin predicts that people will soon stop placing orders themselves, as their AI agents take over routine tasks such as choosing products and paying for orders on their behalf. Agents will also start settling up with each other for services provided, using Bitcoin as a genuinely independent international currency.
