Albuquerque Bans Crypto ATMs Amid Scam Concerns

The city of Albuquerque has banned crypto ATMs across the city in response to growing concerns about their legitimacy.

A recent report from the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) found that over 13,460 complaints and $388.9 million in losses were linked to cryptocurrency kiosks in 2025.

The majority of these losses came from Texas, where residents reported a staggering $56.8 million in losses through crypto-kiosk scams in 2025, the highest total recorded by any U.S. state.
