Algorand Price Stuck at Resistance: Dead Cat Bounce or Breakout?
Algorand's (ALGO) price has surged by around 25% from its September lows, reaching $0.11 due to a combination of factors including the network's post-quantum upgrade going live in late August and the appointment of William Herkelrath as CEO on September 9.
However, momentum is flatlining at the upper Bollinger Band with sell-side taker flow dominating. The next 72 hours will decide whether this is a genuine breakout or just a dead cat bounce, with $0.12 being the immediate resistance level and $0.10 serving as strong support.
The derivatives data shows top traders positioned 69.5% long versus 30.5% short, while retail mirrors that positioning at 63.4% long. But taker buy/sell flow tells a different story, with sell-side volume crushing buy-side volume in the most recent hourly window.
