Alloy Shutdown Looms: Tether to Cut Off XAUT Recovery on September 17
Tether's Alloy platform is shutting down on September 17, ending XAUT recovery for customers who still hold aUSDT. This move affects five open positions with 399,088.74 aUSDT of debt and 194.41497 XAUT of collateral. The remaining exposure is far smaller than the aUSDT contract's headline supply.
Alloy's official vault data showed that as of August 10, these open positions had fallen by 56% in terms of aUSDT debt. This decline contrasts with the system's initial issuance on June 30, which recorded 907,994.8205 aUSDT as issued and 470.4215 XAUT as collateral.
The shutdown means that customers who have not returned their aUSDT will no longer be able to recover XAUT through the platform after September 17. Tether has not published any replacement route or assurance of a platform recovery process after this date, leaving pledged XAUT's disposition unclear.
