AllUnity Enters USD Stablecoin Market with New Token USDAU
AllUnity is expanding its lineup of stablecoins by launching a new US dollar-backed token called USDAU. This move comes as the global stablecoin market, which has a total capitalization of roughly $291 billion, continues to be dominated by dollar-pegged tokens. According to CoinGecko, US dollar-pegged tokens account for more than 99% of the global stablecoin market.
The new USDAU token will have a 1:1 peg to the US dollar through segregated reserves and will be available on multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc, and Polygon. This is not AllUnity's first foray into stablecoins, as they already issue euro-backed EURAU, Swiss franc-backed CHFAU, and Swedish krona-backed SEKAU stablecoins.
The launch of USDAU comes at a time when European policymakers are debating the implications of dollar stablecoin dominance. The European Central Bank has warned that greater use in European tokenized finance could deepen dependence on the dollar and weaken the euro's role. However, AllUnity did not respond to Cointelegraph's request for comment on this matter.
