Altcoin Frenzy: XRP Surges Past BNB as Market Cap Hits New High
The cryptocurrency market has been on the move this week, but it's the altcoins that have stolen the spotlight. Ripple's XRP price skyrocketed past $1.65 for the first time in months, surpassing BNB along the way.
XRP had dipped below $1.00 just a week ago and fought to hold that level before finally breaking out and soaring by over 65% since Wednesday. It now trades above $1.65 and has overtaken BNB in terms of market cap, despite the latter's own 10% surge.
Other altcoins are also performing well, with SOL, HYPE, DOGE, ADA, LINK, XLM, BCH, CC, and LTC all posting double-digit gains today. ZEC led the pack with a 40% surge to $820, while ETH reclaimed the $2,500 level after a 7% pump.
Bitcoin has also been on the move, rebounding from its dip to $76,200 and sitting well above $78,000 now. Its market cap is at $1.575 trillion, with dominance over the altcoins slightly reduced from 57.9% to 57.1%.
