Altcoin Gainers Show Contrasting Chart Performances
Three altcoins stand out for their strong performance in the third week of September: Bitway (BTW), Venice Token (VVV), and Filecoin (FIL). According to CoinGecko's weekly leaderboard, these tokens have posted impressive gains over the past seven days.
Among them, Bitway (BTW) takes the top spot with a 43.2% weekly gain, but its chart shows signs of weakness. The token currently trades near $0.70 and has strong volume behind it. However, the daily chart reveals that BTW's price rejection at resistance between $0.75 and $0.78 is a concern.
On the other hand, Filecoin (FIL) gained 61.3% from its August 18 low but its chart shows the strongest confirmation among the three. FIL's daily turnover reached $420 million against an $823 million market cap, making it one of the most actively traded assets in this group.
Venice Token (VVV), meanwhile, has corrected 26.7% from its September 9 record high at $29.288 and is now trading near $22.33. The token's price has tested the level directly, with RSI sitting near 60 and no bearish divergence.
The top three altcoins share almost nothing beyond their place on the leaderboard, and weekly performance and chart quality have moved in opposite directions. While BTW gained the most, its nearest support sits 31% away on falling volume.
