Altcoin Outperformance: Ethereum, Solana, and Zcash Lead the Charge

The past 90 days have seen Bitcoin's price rise 21%, but it's not the only cryptocurrency that has performed well. In fact, 38% of all altcoins outperformed Bitcoin during this time period.

One altcoin that stands out is Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), which uses the proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and has a growing developer ecosystem. Its Layer-1 (L1) blockchain is the world's largest developer-oriented PoS blockchain, and its Layer-2 (L2) blockchains process transactions off-chain at faster speeds and lower costs.

Ethereum's price has risen 41% over the past 90 days, and it could continue to rise as more investors view it as a long-term play on decentralized transactions and AI agents. Over a dozen companies have been building their own Ether treasuries.
