Altcoin Rally Ignites as Bitcoin Consolidates Near $84K
The crypto market saw a broad altcoin rally on September 25, with 93 of the 100 assets in the CoinDesk 100 trading higher. Bitcoin remained near $84,000, suggesting that the strongest momentum was rotating into altcoins rather than coming from another BTC breakout.
Quant emerged as one of the strongest large moves in the market, gaining roughly 39% over 24 hours. This move stood out because of its size, but it was not an isolated pump. The rally was much broader than just one token, with more than nine in ten constituents in the CoinDesk 100 trading higher.
Bitcoin's consolidation near $84,000 can give altcoins room to run. When BTC is rising too quickly, traders often concentrate capital in Bitcoin. But when Bitcoin settles into a relatively stable range after a rally, some investors begin moving profits and fresh capital into assets further down the market-cap table.
