Altcoin Spot Volume Surges Past Four Times That of Bitcoin
Bitcoin spot traders are shifting their attention towards altcoins, leading to an increase in total spot volume. This rotation has pushed altcoin spot volume close to four times that of Bitcoin, a trend observed since September 2025.
This pattern often precedes local tops, indicating that the current market structure may be setting up for a potential downturn. At present, the price of Bitcoin sits at $83,361.08 within the Bollinger Bands, with resistance at $85,179.12 and support at $83,017.97.
The EMA50 acts as immediate resistance at $83,464.52, while the EMA200 remains the deeper floor at $78,886.63. The RSI(14) is at 42.74, indicating a neutral trend, but the MACD prints a death cross at -148.15, confirming the bearish trend structure on the 4h chart.
As the price tests the upper band with subdued momentum, it appears likely that Bitcoin will experience a healthy retracement towards the 50-EMA support before any continuation attempt.
