Altcoin Surge Leaves Bitcoin in the Shadows
The cryptocurrency market saw an interesting shift in focus this week, as several altcoins outperformed Bitcoin's gains. The largest cryptocurrency had a strong start to the week, reclaiming and even surpassing its $80,000 level after a brief dip. However, it couldn't maintain momentum and was rejected at $87,300.
Despite this setback, many altcoins continued to rise, with some posting impressive weekly gains of up to 73%. XRP, LINK, and ADA were among the top performers, each gaining between 17% and 18%. This surge in altcoin prices has led to a decline in Bitcoin's dominance, which lost around 2% over the past week.
The largest altcoins by market capitalization have seen significant growth, with ENA surging 52%, NEAR rising 45%, and ONDO increasing by 40%. This trend is being driven by investors looking for alternative options to Bitcoin, which has been experiencing increased volatility. The shift in focus towards altcoins may be a sign of a longer-term trend, as the market continues to adapt to changing conditions.
