Altcoin Surge Outpaces Bitcoin as Crypto Markets Show Mixed Picture

Crypto markets presented a mixed picture on Thursday evening, with Bitcoin holding steady while altcoins surged.

Bitcoin remained largely unchanged at $84,391.66, while Ethereum edged up 0.17% to $2,688.65.

The real momentum was found further down the market capitalization ladder, where BNB and Solana posted solid mid-tier gains of 1.56% and 1.83%, respectively.

A cluster of altcoins made decisive moves higher, with XRP surging 3.07% to $1.55, Dogecoin climbing 3.73% to $0.10, and Avalanche rising 3.24% to $10.60.

The standout performer was Cardano, which surged 4.68% to $0.25, topping the leaderboard among major coins tracked.
