Altcoin Trading Volume Hits Four Times Bitcoin's as Market Expands

Altcoin spot trading volume has surged to almost four times that of Bitcoin, according to data from Glassnode. This is the highest ratio since September 2025.

In addition to the rise in altcoin trading volumes, 72.5% of tracked altcoins outperformed Bitcoin over the past seven days, while the wider market saw a significant increase in capitalization. TOTAL2, which tracks crypto market capitalization excluding Bitcoin, has gained more than $371 billion since June and now stands at approximately $1.17 trillion.

The growing participation in altcoin trading is also reflected in exchange deposits, with weekly averages above 22,700 on Binance and 8,300 on Coinbase, indicating a potential source of selling pressure.
