Altcoin Volumes Plummet During Year-End Holiday Lull

The year-end holiday lull has brought a significant decline in altcoin trading volumes. According to data from Santiment, major cryptocurrencies have seen their activity drop by half compared to last year's holiday season.

The analytics firm reported that Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and Dogecoin are now recording less than half their weekly trading volumes compared to late 2024.

Santiment attributed the drop to flat price movement and year-end holidays pulling traders away from markets. The firm noted that this decline reflects weaker short-term interest rather than panic selling.
