Altcoins Prepare for September Volatility as Supply Events Loom
The cryptocurrency market is expected to experience heightened volatility in September due to various factors such as macro uncertainty, token unlocks, and shifting risk appetite.
Several altcoins are likely to be affected by these conditions, including Sui (SUI), Aptos (APT), Sei (SEI), Celestia (TIA), and Injective (INJ).
SUI is currently consolidating within a tight range after pulling back from its local highs at $0.95, with a scheduled unlock adding supply pressure.
Aptos (APT) is also due for an unlock in September, releasing nearly 14.36 million APT, roughly worth $7.4 million, which represents about 1.8% of APT's market cap.
Sei (SEI), on the other hand, has staged a strong upswing in August but failed to clear the $0.05 resistance zone, and its major catalyst for September is the monthly unlock of roughly 111.5 million SEI, equivalent to about 1.5% of the market cap.
Celestia (TIA) faces continued supply additions in September, with daily releases of around 344,924 scheduled through the early part of the month, making absorption an important factor for price.
