Altcoins Surge as Bitcoin Tumbles Below $64K
Bitcoin's price has dropped below $64,000, but altcoins are bucking the trend. Despite rising oil prices and a major currency intervention out of Japan, several smaller cryptocurrencies are seeing significant gains.
Hyperliquid led the way with a 4.26% increase to $55.30, driven by strong on-chain fundamentals including record trading volume and revenue growth.
Cardano rose 2.36% to $0.170, breaking out of a symmetrical triangle pattern confirmed by higher volume. Pump.fun gained 6.31% to $0.00207, with its rally tied to a strong utility narrative built around the token's revenue and buyback program.
The divergence between Bitcoin and altcoins suggests traders are repositioning rather than showing fresh directional conviction. If spot demand backs up the move and open interest expands, the current weakness could turn into a more convincing breakdown.
