OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is meeting with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles this week as part of his trip to Washington, D.C. to discuss AI policy and implementation of President Donald Trump's executive order.

The trip comes ahead of the August 1 deadline for federal agencies to develop a framework to carry out evaluations of AI models provided by companies.

Altman has seen the proposed framework for implementing the executive order, which asked AI companies to voluntarily provide models to the government before full release.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is also meeting with lawmakers this week to discuss open models and 'American leadership in AI', according to a spokesperson.
