Altura's Vault Redemptions Halted by Bank Account Freeze
Decentralized finance yield protocol Altura has hit another snag in its orderly wind-down process, as its corporate bank account was temporarily restricted, halting the final payout phase of its Vault. The freeze occurred during an attempt to execute a fiat-to-USDT conversion through an over-the-counter (OTC) partner.
The issue arises after Altura completed the liquidation of its real-world assets in June 2026, processing over 8.5 million USDT in withdrawals within a 24-hour period. The protocol's management took the decision to shut down the product due to sustained capital withdrawal demand, citing volatility across yield platforms following the de-pegging of Main Street's msUSD asset.
The remaining £16.4 million locked in Altura's corporate account is currently under internal review by its banking institution. The company's management noted that they are focusing on institutional outreach and have paused activity in community chat groups to expedite the process.
