America.gov, a new government website designed to be a 'unified digital front door' to the federal government, was put to the test by Bitcoin.com News in terms of its knowledge on bitcoin and crypto policies.

The platform uses information from around 29,000 government websites and was developed with the help of Google's Gemini AI model and Elon Musk's SpaceXAI Grok. However, when asked 12 questions related to federal government policies on bitcoin, tax reporting, crypto asset usage, investor protection, and the Trump family's crypto businesses, America.gov fell short.

Unlike ChatGPT and Claude, America.gov missed recent legislative developments relevant to some of the questions, presented outdated information about the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's guidance on digital assets, and constantly hedged its answers with a 'not advice' line.
