American Bitcoin Reactivates Drumheller Site with 42 MW of Mining Infrastructure

A Bitcoin mining site in Alberta, Canada, has been reactivated by American Bitcoin Corp. after being shut down earlier this year due to high energy costs and grid voltage problems. The site, located in Drumheller, Alberta, has a capacity of up to 42 MW and was equipped with 11,298 new ASIC miners, adding around 3.05 exahashes per second of computing power at an efficiency of approximately 13.5 joules per terahash.

The site's reactivation is part of American Bitcoin's plan to acquire Bitcoin at below spot prices through disciplined and cost-efficient mining. According to Eric Trump, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at American Bitcoin, the company aims to 'acquiring Bitcoin at below spot prices' through its mining operations.

The Drumheller site was previously shut down in March 2024 due to high energy costs, but it has been reequipped with newer, more efficient hardware. The new rigs running at 13.5 J/TH represent a meaningful upgrade over the fleet's overall average, with American Bitcoin's total operational machines now running at approximately 14.1 J/TH across roughly 58,999 active miners producing about 25.0 EH/s.

The reactivation of the Drumheller site is seen as a strategic move by American Bitcoin to increase its share of the global Bitcoin network security and maintain its competitiveness in the market.
