American Bitcoin, a publicly traded company and majority-owned subsidiary of Hut 8 Corp, reported a second-quarter loss due to declining Bitcoin prices. However, the firm's stock increased by over 5% on Monday as it revealed that its crypto holdings had grown. The company added 981 more Bitcoins to its stash, bringing its total to 8,002 coins.

Its Bitcoin reserve now exceeds $510.6 million at current prices, making it the 16th largest in the industry, according to Bitcoin Treasuries data. American Bitcoin attributed its quarterly production growth to its focus on mining, which reached a record high of about 932 Bitcoins mined in Q2.

The company's CEO Mike Ho emphasized that they remained committed to their goal of 'delivering relentless growth' and building the preeminent American Bitcoin powerhouse for the long haul. He noted that despite headwinds in Q2, they stayed focused on what they could control and strengthened their business foundation.
