Economist Saifedean Ammous says companies that hold Bitcoin as a treasury may struggle to compete with Strategy, a corporate vehicle led by Michael Saylor. According to Ammous, Strategy's size and cash reserves give it an edge over smaller Bitcoin treasury companies.

Strategy has acquired 847,666 BTC for $63.95 billion and has a $5.02 billion US dollar reserve tied to preferred stock dividends and debt interest. This funding approach drew attention earlier this year when Bitcoin traded below $60,000.

Ammous believes more businesses should consider treating Bitcoin as a long-term reserve asset rather than working capital. However, he also warned that holding Bitcoin indirectly through Strategy carries risks.
