Ampleforth Proposal Canceled Amid Governance Concerns

An unusual incident has occurred on the Ampleforth DeFi protocol, which is governed by FORTH token holders. A proposal was submitted to transfer $2.5 million in USDC from the protocol's treasury, but it was canceled before its voting window even opened.

The proposal, known as Proposal 54, was presented as a retrospective grant for Observatory for SPOT, an analytics tool for the AMPL and SPOT ecosystem. However, the proposing wallet had just received a significant amount of delegated voting power from another address, which remains unidentified.

GoPlus Security's X account warned about the proposal shortly before its cancellation, characterizing it as an attack. While the proposal was canceled, and no transfer was executed, the incident raises concerns about governance control on DeFi protocols.
