Analyst Ranks Top Altcoins with Key October Catalysts

The financial world is gearing up for increased tokenized asset activity this month, with two altcoins at the forefront. An analyst has identified the top five altcoins with significant catalysts in October, cautioning that positive news does not always translate to higher prices.

Chainlink ($LINK) is ranked fifth due to its recently launched CCIP 2.0 and Fulcrum tool, which allows institutional financing across blockchains. However, the analyst emphasizes the need for actual institutional usage to drive demand for the token. Ethereum (ETH) is preparing for the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, which aims to improve block processing efficiency. A successful test could boost confidence, while delays might raise concerns.

Zcash (ZEC) is also set for its NU7 upgrade on the testnet on October 6, with a final decision on mainnet activation expected by October 20. The upgrade promises faster block times and adjusted rewards. Hyperliquid ($HYPE) is facing a token unlock on October 6, following the initiation of a buyback program on October 3. The analyst remains cautious about potential selling pressure despite the buybacks.

Topping the list is Canton (CC), with the DTCC planning to launch its tokenization service in late October. The DTCC’s involvement in real trades using Canton has drawn attention, though risks include uncertainties around the exact launch date and the DTCC’s work with multiple chains.
