Anchorage Digital and Standard Chartered Launch Institutional Banking Expansion
Anchorage Digital has taken a significant step in expanding its institutional banking services by partnering with Standard Chartered. The collaboration, announced on October 5, aims to integrate global fiat settlements, allowing institutional investors to manage U.S. dollars and digital assets within a single interface.
Clients onboarded through Anchorage Digital Singapore can now access 24/7 settlement capabilities, including weekends and holidays. The partnership provides named virtual accounts with unique routing details, direct connectivity to the SWIFT network, and integration with Anchorage Digital’s proprietary Atlas settlement network. This eliminates the need for fragmented vendors across custody, brokerage, and banking settlement.
Nathan McCauley, CEO and co-founder of Anchorage Digital, emphasized the goal of reducing operational friction for various market participants, including brokerages, exchanges, and fund managers. The service ensures uninterrupted cross-border funds transfers, with instant clearing available at all times. Luke Boland, Global Head of Fintech at Standard Chartered, highlighted the combination of the bank’s payment rails and risk management frameworks with Anchorage Digital’s regulated platform to streamline institutional cross-border flows.
The rollout of USD virtual accounts marks the beginning of the joint operational phase in Singapore during the final quarter of 2026. Future plans include expanding compatibility to additional fiat currencies, responding to rising demand for regulated custody and settlement infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region.
