Anchorage Expands Institutional Custody with Etherlink Assets
Anchorage Digital, a leading institutional custody platform, has expanded its offerings to include seven Etherlink-based assets. This move allows institutional clients to hold tokenized real-world assets, such as xU3O8, a token representing physical uranium, in segregated accounts at Anchorage Digital Bank.
The integration of Etherlink assets with Anchorage Digital's custody platform provides institutions with a secure and compliant way to manage their tokenized assets. This is particularly significant for the $9 million tokenized uranium asset, xU3O8, which can be transferred and settled on blockchain infrastructure without the need for specialist intermediaries.
Anchorage CEO Nathan McCauley notes that institutional demand for tokenized real-world assets is not limited by the availability of such assets, but rather by the lack of custody offerings to meet institutional risk appetite. This highlights the importance of robust and compliant custody solutions in enabling the growth of the RWA market.
The inclusion of xU3O8 and other Etherlink-based assets in Anchorage's custody platform demonstrates the movement of real-world assets from traditional to tokenized space, with commodity pools and financial exposures increasingly represented through blockchain platforms.
