Anchorage Partners with LayerZero for Cross-Chain Stablecoin Distribution
Anchorage Digital has partnered with LayerZero to enable cross-chain distribution of its regulated stablecoins. The first token to adopt this standard is USAT, issued through Anchorage's platform and backed by Tether.
The integration aims to address the issue of stablecoin fragmentation, where a token can be highly liquid on one network but difficult to use on another. By using LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard, Anchorage can move supported stablecoins between blockchain networks without creating separate isolated versions for every chain.
This means that users will have more flexibility in accessing and using their stablecoins across different platforms. Not all of Anchorage's stablecoins are live on every chain yet, but the company expects other tokens like USDPT and USDGO to follow soon.
