Anchorpoint Unveils HKDAP Stablecoin for Institutional Users in Hong Kong
Anchorpoint has started rolling out its HKDAP stablecoin in Hong Kong to institutional users, marking a significant milestone for the company and the region's digital asset ecosystem. The launch follows Anchorpoint's receipt of an issuer license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in April 2026, alongside HSBC.
HKDAP is a Hong Kong dollar-backed stablecoin designed to maintain a one-to-one value with the local currency. According to Anchorpoint, the token will support cross-border payments, fiat conversion, and settlement of tokenized real-world assets. The company has partnered with HashKey Exchange, which completed its first HKDAP minting and redemption transaction as part of the initial release.
Anchorpoint CEO Dominic Maffei stated that the company has seen strong market interest in the stablecoin and plans to work closely with partners to broaden adoption and enable new commercial applications. The institutional rollout is a significant step towards establishing HKDAP as a widely accepted digital currency in Hong Kong.
