Andrew Tate Unloads $1.87M HYPE Stash, Sitting on 1,317% Gain
Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate has moved 20,950 HYPE tokens to Binance, valued at approximately $1.87 million, following a 1,317% gain since his initial investment two years ago.
The tokens were bought at around $4.48 each, costing Tate roughly $550,000, and are now worth around $89 each.
According to blockchain tracker Lookonchain, Tate's wallet shows a $7.24 million gain from his spot HYPE holdings, but this figure only accounts for the second part of his HYPE position and does not include earlier sales that would make up the difference between the holdings' current value and the stated total profit.
It is unclear whether the deposit to Binance is a sale, a transfer for custody, or collateral for something else, as a deposit to an exchange is not necessarily a sale.
Tate's HYPE position is a spot position, bought and held, whereas his other activities on Hyperliquid are leveraged perpetual futures positions, which are different activities on the same platform.
