APAC Investors Flock to Tokenized Real-World Assets Amid Bullish Sentiment

Share

A decade ago, conversations about putting real-world assets on blockchain in Asia were mostly theoretical. However, that's no longer the case. A new report from Sygnum Singapore found that most investors surveyed already hold or are evaluating tokenized real-world assets.

The survey revealed that 68% of APAC investors currently hold tokenized RWAs, while another 12% are in the process of evaluating exposure. Tokenized equities are the most preferred asset class, with 66% of respondents holding them, followed by tokenized treasuries at 44%. Portfolio diversification is the top investment rationale cited by 72% of respondents.

Almost half of respondents expect 15% to 30% of capital markets to shift on-chain within three to five years, which implies around $40 trillion in nominal value. The report highlights that investors' preference for tokenized RWAs and crypto is increasingly forming a larger slice of hybrid traditional-digital portfolios.
