Apple and Google Ramp Up Stablecoin Hiring Amid Growing Digital Asset Investments
Apple and Google are expanding their teams to include experts in stablecoins and blockchain technology. The move suggests that both companies are deepening their investments in digital assets, but neither has announced plans to issue its own stablecoin.
According to a job listing posted by Apple on August 26, the company is seeking a Financial Product Strategy Lead for Apple Pay in the US. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience and knowledge of stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology.
The salary for this role ranges from $149,700 to $280,000. Although the job listing does not mention a cryptocurrency or stablecoin product, it refers to digital assets as part of a wider financial product strategy.
Google's effort is more technical. The company is hiring an Industry Principal Architect, Web3 in Hong Kong to help Google Cloud customers and partners in Asia-Pacific with Web3 projects. Applicants will need to have experience with system architecture or infrastructure, ideally with production-grade Web3 systems.
