Apple Faces $1.8 Million Lawsuit Over Bitcoin Wallet App Scam

Three customers have filed a lawsuit against Apple alleging they suffered $1.8 million in losses after installing a fake Bitcoin wallet app from the App Store. The plaintiffs, James Ramirez, Christopher Ellis, and Jalen Delgado, claim that Apple failed to properly review and monitor applications, despite promoting the App Store as a trusted marketplace.

The victims entered their Bitcoin seed phrases into the fraudulent application, enabling scammers to move funds. Each plaintiff reported losses of different magnitudes during 2025, culminating in the combined figure cited in the complaint.

Apple has responded by stating that it removed apps impersonating Sparrow Wallet and terminated associated developer accounts. However, the plaintiffs argue that this was not enough, as they had already suffered significant financial losses.
