Apple Pledges $60 Billion to Texas Manufacturing in Major Domestic Investment Push
Apple has committed $60 billion to domestic manufacturing in Texas as part of its broader $600 billion investment plan, which spans from 2025 to 2029.
The company's new Houston facility will focus on advanced AI server production and Mac mini assembly, making it one of the largest single-state corporate manufacturing pledges in recent memory.
This move comes as Tim Cook transitions to executive chairman on September 1, 2026, passing the CEO title to John Ternus, Apple's current hardware chief.
The $600 billion roadmap was initially announced by Apple in early 2025 with a commitment of $500 billion. By August of that year, this figure had been increased to $600 billion through the American Manufacturing Program (AMP).
