Apple Sued Over Bitcoin Losses from Fake Sparrow Wallet Apps
Three users have filed a federal lawsuit against Apple, claiming that fraudulent Sparrow Wallet apps on the App Store caused Bitcoin losses totaling approximately $1.835 million between May and August 2025.
The fake apps, which requested wallet seed phrases, led to unauthorized transfers of Bitcoin to attacker-controlled addresses.
Apple says it quickly removed the impersonating apps and terminated related developer accounts but faces allegations of insufficient App Store protections.
