Aptos Launches Confidential APT, Sending APT Price Up 22%
Aptos has introduced Confidential APT, a feature that allows users to hide their transaction amounts without concealing their wallet addresses. This move is seen as significant, with APT's price rising by 22.53% following the launch.
Confidential APT uses Twisted ElGamal encryption and zero-knowledge proofs to ensure that only the sender and recipient can view the transfer amount. Validators can verify the transaction without seeing the value being moved, providing an added layer of security.
This feature is designed to address concerns raised by institutions about the transparency of public blockchains. By allowing users to selectively disclose information, Aptos aims to create a more private and secure environment for transactions.
