Aptos' innovative parallel execution design has gained industry-wide recognition and adoption. This approach combines Aptos Move to create a robust parallelization engine that executes transactions concurrently, ensuring efficient processing under heavy loads.

As Avery Ching noted on September 4, 2026, the traditional sequential transaction handling method fails to keep up with high volumes of data. To address this issue, Aptos employs Block-STM to execute transactions in parallel and re-run only collisions while maintaining validator order.

This design has inspired other industry players, including Polygon, Sei Network, and Starknet, who have implemented similar approaches over the past year.
