Aptos Price Momentum Hits Critical Juncture Amid Regulatory Tailwinds
Aptos (APT) is currently trading at $0.83 after a blistering 68% run from its August 30 low, but momentum has flatlined and taker sell flow is overwhelming buyers.
The 68% price increase was fueled by the SEC/CFTC joint ruling in March that classified APT as a digital commodity, stripping away regulatory overhangs. Additionally, Aptos Foundation's permanent locking and staking of 210 million APT tokens, roughly 18% of circulating supply, off the market indefinitely.
The technical reality is mixed, with the RSI at 63 being neutral-to-constructive but the MACD histogram zeroed out, indicating a stall in buying momentum. The Stochastic oscillator suggests a cooling-off period may be necessary before further price movement.
The next key levels are $0.80 and $0.78, with the SMA 200 at $0.76 providing strong support. A clean bounce off $0.80 would set up a re-test of $0.86, while clearing $0.86 opens the door to $0.90-$0.93.
