Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, recently praised Signal's new privacy upgrade, which he believes goes beyond just protecting phone numbers.

In a related development, Aptos has launched its Confidential APT feature on its mainnet, allowing users to encrypt their balances and transaction amounts using zero-knowledge proofs. However, wallet addresses will remain visible on the blockchain.

This move by Aptos aligns with Buterin's views on privacy in the crypto space. He emphasizes that phone numbers are not the only risk associated with identity disclosure.
