Aqua 1 Beneficial Owner Listed as China Default Registry

Share

Aqua 1 Foundation's $100 million investment in WLFI has added a layer of complexity to the crypto project, which has attracted significant attention from high-profile investors.

The beneficial owner of Aqua 1 Foundation is identified as Zhou Guren, a China-born individual who is now listed on a Chinese court's public defaulter registry with unpaid amounts across six related cases totaling tens of millions of yuan.

Zhou's name has also been linked to a money laundering case in the UK and a Shanghai-based timber company for which he served as legal representative was involved in a smuggling case in China, raising potential compliance concerns for WLFI and its investors.
