Arb Surges 30% as Robinhood Chain Revenue Hits $2 Million
Arbitrum's native token, ARB, surged nearly 30% in a single day on September 1, making it the strongest-performing major asset in the crypto market. The rally was driven by more than just narrative, as Robinhood Chain's on-chain trading revenue exceeded $2 million over the past 24 hours.
Offchain Labs co-founder Steven Goldfeder confirmed that since Robinhood Chain operates on an Arbitrum Dedicated Chain architecture, roughly 10% of net protocol revenue flows back to the Arbitrum ecosystem. This means that the market is pricing in a significant annualized revenue stream for ARB.
ARK Invest capital markets analyst Lorenzo Valente provided an even more compelling growth curve: Robinhood Chain's total daily revenue rose from $54,676 on August 22 to $1.088 million by August 30, a nearly 20-fold increase in just eight days. Arbitrum's share correspondingly jumped from $5,400 per day to $108,000 per day.
The distribution logic of value capture is a key question: where does this $2 million in daily revenue ultimately flow? Arbitrum captures the 'platform tax' as a protocol-level, structural payment, while Uniswap captures the 'trading tax', and Robinhood captures the 'brand tax'.
